Things to Consider Beforehand

Academics

What coursework do you want to take abroad? Have you thought about an internship or research abroad?

Language & Culture

Do you want to develop your foreign language skills or maybe learn a new language? Or do you want to stick with an English-speaking program? Do you want to travel and learn with other Bobcats or immerse yourself with students and professors from the host country?

Timing

When do you want to go abroad? How long do you want to go abroad?

Finances

What is your budget for going abroad? Do you qualify for financial aid? Are you interested in scholarships?

While At The Fair

Be Active

  • Check-in.
  • Take photos at the fair, post on social media, and tag the Education Abroad or Study in America office.

Be Curious

  • Talk with program leaders staffing the tables and ask lots of questions - academic fit, cost, travel logistics, and more.
  • Stop by our affiliate provider tables to learn more about their wide variety of programs and destinations.
  • Get as much information as possible from our campus partners who will be there. 
  • Chat with other Bobcats who have already been abroad about their experience before, during and after their program.

Be Prepared

After the fair:

  • Visit the Passport Office to get your passport, if interested in abroad studies.
  • Set up an appointment to meet with a Study in America or Education Abroad advisor.
  • Search programs, apply and travel with TXST!
